I was watching this video yesterday and found it very informative by not only how mammals communicate but how far they can as well. Peter also goes into detail on how we are affecting these animals with noise pollution from ships, causing them to adapt their calls in an effort to be heard. From TED:
“Peter Tyack of Woods Hole talks about a hidden wonder of the sea: underwater sound. Onstage at Mission Blue, he explains the amazing ways whales use sound and song to communicate across hundreds of miles of ocean.”
